Fressenneville ( Picard : Freuchéneville ) is a northern French municipality with 2207 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes du Vimeu and the canton of Friville-Escarbotin .

geography

The municipality, crossed by the D925 and D1925 departmental roads in an east-west direction, is located on the D229 departmental road southeast of Friville-Escarbotin and northwest of Feuquières-en-Vimeu on the railway line from Abbeville to Eu (Seine-Maritime) with a stop (Gare de Feuquières - Fressenneville) just outside the municipality. The Parc Éolien de Chasse-Marée wind farm is located in the south of the municipality.

history

In the 18th century metalworking found its way into the area; Fressenneville specialized in padlocks. In 1906 a factory owner's castle was set on fire during a strike.
