The church

Cocquerel ( Picard : Cocré ) is a northern French municipality with 229 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes Ponthieu-Marquenterre and the canton of Rue .

geography

The municipality on the north (right) bank of the Somme is located around 5.5 km southwest of Ailly-le-Haut-Clocher on the D112 departmental road, which follows the banks of the Somme. It extends in the north to the A16 autoroute . A bridge over the Somme connects it with Fontaine-sur-Somme on the south bank of this river . The district Longuet belongs to the municipality in the east on the municipality boundary with Long .

history

Cocquerel Castle was destroyed in 1940 and replaced by a new building. The farm buildings were preserved.
