Maison-Ponthieu ( Picard : Moaison-Pontiu ) is a northern French municipality with 274 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes Ponthieu-Marquenterre and the canton of Rue .
geography
The community on the Fossé des Eaux-Sauvages river , which drains to the Authie , is located around 13 kilometers east of Crécy-en-Ponthieu and seven kilometers southwest of Auxi-le-Château .
Toponymy and History
The Counts of Ponthieu owned a summer house on site, to which the place name could be traced back. Incursions by Spanish troops in 1647 led to the construction of the "muches" ( basement ). The church tower collapsed in January 2014.
