Vron is a northern French municipality with 837 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes Ponthieu-Marquenterre and the canton of Rue .
geography
Vron is located in the Marquenterre , the part of the Ponthieu by the sea , on the Ruisseau de Pende around 3.5 km south of Nampont on the old Route nationale 1 and extends in the west from the Autoroute A16 to the edge of the municipality of Argoules in the east. The municipality includes Avesnes Castle in the north-west, the Hémencourt farm to the south, the Ferme du Bois Thomas, the hamlet of Callenges, the Les Hallots group of houses and the Franc Picard, Moismont, Bodoage and Balance farms to the east.
history
A necropolis dating back to Roman times was found in Vron. The Cistercian monks , who later settled in the Valloires monastery , previously lived in the Balances homestead. In the 19th century, Vron owned a faience factory and a sugar factory.
