Bouillancourt-en-Séry ( Picard : Bouillincourt-in-Sry ) is a northern commune with 550 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Somme department in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the canton of Gamaches .

geography

The community lies on the plateau north of the Bresle and is bounded by the steep drop of the Côte d'Ansennes. In the west it extends to the Fond de Séry, in the east beyond the Autoroute A 28 and the former Route nationale 28 and includes the district Wattebléry. On the edge of the valley of the Bresle there are larger forests, which were formerly called Bois de Séry (from the west: Bois de Bouillancourt, Bois de Mailly, Bois de la Croix, Bois de la Cavéette and Bois de l'Anglée).

history

The rule had been in the house of Cayeux since the 12th century, from which the foundation of the Premonstratensian monastery Notre-Dame de Séry in the neighboring community of Bouttencourt (settled in 1136) had started.
