Estrées-lès-Crécy ( Picard : etree-lès-Carcy ) is a northern French municipality with 391 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes Ponthieu-Marquenterre and the canton of Rue .
geography
The municipality, which until 1951 was served by a one-meter railway line of the Réseau des Bains de Mer , is located about three kilometers east of Crécy-en-Ponthieu on the D938 departmental road and a section of the Chaussée Brunehaut system . The Branlicourt and Ferme du Bois d'Ausse farms belong to it.
Toponymy
The place name is derived from the Latin term "strata". The place was one of the scenes of the Battle of Crécy in the Hundred Years War .
