Eaucourt-sur-Somme ( Picard : Yucourt-dsu-sonme ) is a northern French municipality with 424 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté d'agglomération de la Baie de Somme and the canton of Abbeville-2 .

geography

The built-up part of the municipality, which extends beyond the A16 autoroute in the north, lies on the right (northern) bank of the Somme , while the municipality in the south extends over the Somme floodplain to the Rivière de Bellifontaine stream . A wind farm on the heights north of the Somme extends over the western and eastern neighboring communities of Épagne-Épagnette and Pont-Remy .

history

The village belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Riquier . Eaucourt came to the de Roye family by marriage in 1214 and to the Châtillon-Saint-Pol family in 1315.
