Maisnières ( Picard : Mainniére-in-Vimeu ) is a northern French municipality with 516 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the canton of Gamaches .

geography

The municipality in Vimeu , through which the railway line from Longpré-les-Corps-Saints to Gamaches, which was closed in 1993 , ran, is located on the Vimeuse about six kilometers northeast of Gamaches . The districts of Visse, Monchelet, Handrechy and Harcelaines follow the course of the Vimeuse, while the district of Courtieux lies northeast of the main town on the plateau. The Touvent homestead is located in the west on the plateau on a section of the Chaussée Brunehaut system . Maisnières has a share in the extensive wind farm that is expanding into the neighboring communities of Frettemeule and Tilloy-Floriville .

history

In the 17th century, hops were grown in the community, as indicated by field names. The municipalities of Courtieux, Harcelaines and Monchelet were united with Maisnières between 1790 and 1794. In July 1944, the impact of a V1 rocket claimed several lives and injuries.
