Martainneville ( Picard : Martchainneville ) is a northern French municipality with 422 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the canton of Gamaches .
geography
The community is mainly located between the A28 autoroute in the northwest and the former Route nationale 28 in the southeast; to the east is the commune of Saint-Maxent and to the west the commune of Vismes . The place is located on the railway line from Longpré-les-Corps-Saints to Gamaches, which was closed in 1993 (stop at the agricultural cooperative on the border with Saint-Maxent). The strategic railway line from Ponthoile to Feuquières , which opened in 1918 but was dismantled again in 1920 after the end of the First World War , also touched the community.
history
For centuries the community was under the rule of the du Bus family, who named themselves after the no longer existing hamlet of Les Butz, and from whom they derive their coat of arms.
