Saint-Maxent ( Picard : Saint-Manchin ) is a northern French municipality with 392 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes du Vimeu Vert and the canton of Gamaches .

Course of the former railway line

The center of the municipality on the almost flat plateau of the Vimeu lies south of the former Route nationale 28 . The wind farm in the south of the municipality extends into the neighboring municipalities of Doudelainville and Fresnes-Tilloloy . The place was on the 1993 disused railway line from Longpré-les-Corps-Saints to Gamaches (stop at the agricultural cooperative on the border with Martainneville ).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1126. The lordship belonged to the Abbeville ballroom .
