history

Machined flint from Ochancourt

Prehistoric finds such as a flint tool bear witness to a settlement in prehistoric times. The "land of graves" is said to be the burial place for the fallen in the battle of Saucourt between Franconia under Ludwig III. (France) and Normans in the year 881.

Since the creation of the canton of Friville-Escarbotin in 1985, Ochancourt has belonged to it (previously to the canton of Ault).
