St. Martin Church

Huchenneville ( Picard : Hucheinneville ) is a northern French municipality with 665 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Abbeville and is part of the Communauté de communes du Vimeu and the canton of Abbeville-2 .

geography

The municipality, separated from Abbeville by the municipality of Mareuil-Caubert , on the former Route nationale 28, includes the districts of Villers-sur-Mareuil, Inval, Caumont and Limercourt.

history

During the Battle of Abbeville , between May 28 and June 4, 1940, fighting took place over the castle of Huchenneville and the hamlet of Villers-sur-Mareuil.
