Culture and sights

Yzengremer Castle is privately owned and has belonged to the Fautereau family since it was built. Parts of the facade are decorated with diamond stone blocks. This type of masonry is rather unusual in France, but it was common in Italy . The construction of this castle is attributed to Anne de Fautereau (1603–1676), who married Maria Strozzi from Florence in 1647. Due to restoration work in the 19th century, it is no longer possible to determine whether the bossing originally covered the entire facade. An ornamental garden belongs to the castle .

economy

There are two industrial establishments in the municipality. In 1890 the building was built for the Ducastel et Couillet lock factory. The company was then called Ducastel et Dehesdin and now Robert Couillet .

In the middle of the 20th century, an industrial building was built for the Gaston Dehesdin foundry . Today the foundry is called Eurofonte .

Local products

There are controlled designations of origin (AOC) for lamb (Prés-salés de la baie de Somme) in the municipality . The lambs graze in the salty meadows of the Somme Bay . In addition, because of its proximity to Normandy, protected geographical indications (IGP) apply to pork (Porc de Normandie) and poultry (Volailles de Normandie) .
