geography
The eponymous capital of the municipality in Vimeu , through which the railway line from Longpré-les-Corps-Saints to Gamaches, which was closed in 1993 , ran, is located on the Vimeuse around eight kilometers northeast of Gamaches between Maisnières and Vismes , while the district of Maigneville (with the Mairie ) is located in the south with the hamlet Infray, where extensive wind farms extend into the neighboring communities of Maisnières and Tilloy-Floriville .
history
Frettemeule was first mentioned in 696. The place name is likely to be derived from the Latin term Fracta mola. Maigneville is traced back to the Latin Magna villa.
