Reggie Nadelson

Regina "Reggie" Nadelson is an American journalist and novelist , best known for her crime series about New York cop Artie Cohen.

Nadelson was born into a secular Jewish family and grew up in the Greenwich Village of Manhattan , New York . After graduating from the local City and Country School and Elisabeth Irwin High School , she majored in English at Vassar College , later moving to Stanford , California , where she graduated in journalism .

Nadelson grew up in a secular Jewish family and describes herself as such today. She herself published several journalistic works on secular Jewish culture in America, including for the BBC radio show From Our Own Correspondent .

Nadelson later worked in London for the Guardian and then for the Independent . She also wrote for BBC documentaries. She has published articles in the US edition of Vogue and several other London newspapers and magazines.

In 1995, she created Artie Cohen , a Russian-born Jewish detective in the New York Police Department , who is about whom most of her novels revolve. In the non-fiction field, it published the Dean Reed - Biography Comrade Rockstar that of Tom Hanks has been chosen to eventually turn a biopic about Reed's life.

She currently lives in both Manhattan and London.
