The truck MAZ-5335 ( Russian МАЗ-5335 , German transcription actually MAS-5335) is a type of truck from the Soviet vehicle manufacturer Minsky Avtomobilny Sawod , which was produced in series from the second half of the 1970s.

The MAZ-5335 was essentially a further development of the MAZ-500A , with only minimal changes compared to its predecessor. For example, the interior of the driver's cab has been fundamentally revised. A characteristic differentiating feature of the two vehicle types are the headlights on the MAZ-5335, which have been integrated into the front bumper. Only the smaller indicators remained to the right and left of the radiator grille. The permissible payload has been reduced compared to the previous model. The successor MAZ-5336 has been produced since 1990 at the latest, which is still being built today with a few modifications.

The MAZ-5335 was typically used together with the MAZ-8926 trailer, also produced by MAZ.

Model variants

Like its predecessor, the MAZ-500, the MAZ-5335 was the basis for a whole range of different designs and modifications. A tipper was offered under the designation MAZ-5549 or tractors as models MAZ-5428 , МAZ-5429 and MAZ-5430 . A variant without a superstructure was sold as the MAZ-5334 . B. was converted to tank trucks.

There was also a special variant MAZ-5335 01 , which was designed for operation at temperatures down to –60 ° C. Changes to the standard model were improved insulation and double glazing of all windows of the vehicle. Care was also taken to ensure that all cable insulation and rubber hoses can withstand the extremely low temperatures.

In the course of the production period of more than 20 years, a revision was made, the result was named MAZ-5335 2 .

The three-axis MAZ-515 and MAZ-516 , which are based on the older MAZ-500, use the last generation components of the MAZ-5335, but were only manufactured until 1978 and 1980 respectively.
