Juan Álvez , full name Juan Daniel Álvez Ortiz , (born August 21, 1983 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.74 meter tall defensive player Álvez was at the beginning of his career from the Clausura 2003 up to and including the Clausura 2008 in the ranks of the Uruguayan first division club Montevideo Wanderers . In July 2008 he moved to league rivals Liverpool Montevideo . By early January 2012, when he left the club, he made at least 71 appearances in the Primera División (2008/09: no data available; 2009/10: 26 games / no goal; 2010/11: 30/1; 2011/12 : 15/0) and two matches (no goal) of the Copa Libertadores . From the Clausura 2012 he then played for the Club Atlético Peñarol . In that half series he ran four times (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league. In the following season 2012/13 he contributed with three first division appearances (no goal) to win the Uruguayan national championship title. He also has six games (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores with the "Aurinegros". In the second half of January 2013 he joined Centro Atlético Fénix , completed 14 (one goal) in Clausura and 30 first division games (no goal) for his employer in the 2013/14 season. In the 2014/15 season he was used 29 times (one goal) in the Primera División. During the 2015/16 season, 29 additional Bundesliga appearances (no goals) were recorded for him. In the 2016 season he was used 15 times (no goal) in the league and twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2016 .
