Primera División 2011/12

The Liga Profesional de Primera División 2012/13 (commercial sponsor name : Torneo Uruguayo Copa Coca-Cola 2012/13 ) was the 109th season (the 81st of the professional era) of the highest Uruguayan division in men's football , the Primera División . It started on August 25, 2012 and ended on June 2, 2013. From December 10, 2012 to February 23, 2013 the season was interrupted by the winter break. In a play-off game, the CA Peñarol secured his 42nd league title two days after the end of the regular season.

As a tribute to the former president of both Montevideo Wanderers and the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol , who died in June 2012 , the season was titled " Carlos Maresca ". The two best-placed clubs in the annual ranking qualified directly for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2014 , the third-placed for their first round. The teams in fourth, fifth and sixth as well as the leaders in the annual standings qualified for the 2013 Copa Sudamericana .

Championship decision

The decision about the championship of the Liga Profesional de Primera División is made in a semi-final game and a final divided into two legs. The respective winners of the Apertura and the Clausura qualify for the semifinals. The winner of this game then meets the best-placed club in the annual table in the final. This is not necessary if a team wins both the first and second half of the season. In this case, she is automatically champion, since otherwise she would have to compete against herself in the semifinals - and as the winner of both series, she is of course also the winner of the annual ranking. In the 2012/13 season the semi-final pairing consisted of the CA Peñarol (winner of the Apertura) and the Defensor Sporting (winner of the Clausura). The CA Peñarol won 3-1 in their home country Estadio Centenario . Since he was also the leader of the annual standings, a final was both impossible and unnecessary and the Aurinegros thus secured their 42nd championship title.

Relegation table

The relegation regulation from the Liga Profesional de Primera División refers to the annual ranking of the current and the previous season. The points scored are added together and divided by the number of games to an average value per game. Current promoters, for whom only a first division season can be used to determine (indicated here by a dash in the column for the 2011/12 season), the points scored in these 30 games are doubled for reasons of equal opportunities.
