The 1947 season of the Primera División was the 44th season (the 16th of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The Primera División consisted of ten clubs in the championship season of 1947, whose teams met twice in a total of 90 championship games. There were 18 game days. The championship was won by Nacional Montevideo as first in the table in front of the tied clubs Club Atlético Peñarol , Rampla Juniors and Club Atlético Defensor in places 2 to 4 of the season's final table . Around the second championship course there was a play-off round designed for three matches between the teams placed second to fourth, but this was not continued after the second game. So the runner-up was not officially awarded. Club Sportivo Miramar was relegated from bottom of the table . The top scorer was Nicolás Falero with 17 goals .
