The 1954 season of the Primera División was the 51st season (the 23rd of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The Primera División consisted of ten clubs in the championship season of 1954, whose teams met twice in a total of 90 championship games. There were 18 game days. Club Atlético Peñarol won the championship as first in the table ahead of Nacional Montevideo and Danubio FC as second and third in the season's final table . As bottom of the table, the Club Sportivo Miramar rose from the Primera División to the Segunda División . The top scorer was Juan Romay with twelve goals .
