The 1958 season of the Primera División was the 55th season (the 27th of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The Primera División consisted of ten clubs in the championship season of 1958, whose teams met twice in a total of 90 championship games. There were 18 game days. Club Atlético Peñarol won the championship as first in the table ahead of Nacional Montevideo and the Rampla Juniors as second and third in the season final table . As bottom of the table, Centro Atlético Fénix rose from the Primera División to the Segunda División . The top scorer was Manuel Pedersen with twelve goals .
