The 1944 season of the Primera División was the 41st season (the 13th of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The "Aurinegros" prevailed in the two championship finals against Nacional Montevideo after the two clubs shared the lead in the final table with equal points.
