Aníbal Ciocca (born July 23, 1915 - † November 7, 1981 ) was a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Offensive player "Príncipe" Ciocca first played at club level in 1931 for the Montevideo Wanderers . From there he moved to Nacional Montevideo towards the end of the year . In 1931 he made his debut with the "Bolsos" and from 1932 to 1946 was a member of the squad in the Primera División . In 1934 he was the top scorer with 13 goals scored and in 1936 with 14 goals scored . In 1933 , 1934 , 1939 , 1940 , 1941 , 1942 , 1943 and 1946 his club won the Uruguayan championship, of which the first seven titles are explicitly attributed to him. Thus, he was involved in the so-called Quinquenio de Oro , the five successive championships from 1939 to 1943, in which he formed the offensive division of the successful team with Luis Ernesto Castro , Atilio García , Roberto Porta and Bibiano Zapirain . In total, he scored 155 goals for the club while serving with Nacional.

National team

Ciocca was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 21 internationals between July 18, 1934 until his last appearance on April 4, 1943. He scored seven international goals. He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the South American Championships in 1935 , 1939 and 1942 . Uruguay won the title in 1935 and 1942. He took part with Uruguay in 1935 and 1936 both in the two playoffs of the Copa Juan Mignaburu and in those of the Copa Hector Gomez . In 1937 he played with Celeste at the Copa Lipton , in 1938 again at the Copa Hector Gomez.
