Mario Risso , full name Mario Pablo Risso Caffiro , (born January 31, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the sources, 1.91 meters, 1.92 meters or 1.93 meters tall defensive player Risso, who also has Italian nationality, has been in the squad of the Defensor club from Montevideo, which competes in the Primera División , at least since the Clausura 2008 . In the 2007/08 season, the central defender was part of the team that won the Uruguayan championship. In the second half of that season he contributed to the success with nine league appearances and one goal. In the following seasons he also came regularly in the Primera División to train. In 2008/09 he completed 25 (no goal), 2009/10 26 (no goal), 2010/11 20 (no goal), in the Clausura 2012 two (no goal) and 2012/13 20 (one goal) league games. He also played 11 or 13 games in the Copa Libertadores , eight games in the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores 2009 and 12 or 10 games (two goals) in the Copa Sudamericana , depending on the sources . In the 2013/14 season he was in the Apertura 2013 ten times (one goal) in the Primera División. In February 2014, he joined the Brazilian club Botafogo on loan . The Brazilians already acquired 40 percent of the transfer rights and secured a purchase option for the rest. There he was used once in Carioca 1 . He didn't score a goal. In early July 2014 he moved to Náutico Capibaribe on loan and played nine games (one goal) in Serie B. On December 31, 2014, his contract with Botafogo expired. On January 28, 2015, his return to Defensor was confirmed. He signed a contract that was initially limited to the end of the season. In the 2015 Clausura he played in four first division games (no goal). He then moved in mid-July 2015 as part of a loan to Club Atlético Huracán in Argentina. There he made 13 first division appearances (no goal) and was used once (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2015 and the Copa Argentina and four times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . In July 2017, the Mexican club Celaya FC signed him .
