Jorge Zambrana , full name Jorge Carlos Zambrana Echagüe , (born March 28, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the sources, 1.61 meters or 1.63 meters tall midfielder Zambrana was at the beginning of his career under contract at least from the Apertura 2007 to the Clausura 2011 with the first division team River Plate Montevideo . There he scored ten league goals in the 2008/09 season, came in the 2009/10 season he met eight times in 28 appearances in the Primera División . He recorded 25 league games and three goals in 2010/11. He also played ten games in the Copa Sudamericana for River Plate Montevideo across the seasons. In August 2011, he joined the Club Atlético Peñarol on loan , which secured a purchase option. In the 2011/12 season he ran 19 times in the top Uruguayan league for the Aurinegros (no goal). In the subsequent championship round 2012/13 , which ended with the national championship title , he completed 21 league games and scored three goals. He also played six games in the Copa Libertadores for Peñarol , scoring twice. This was followed by Zambrana's career in Venezuela . There he also played on loan from Carabobo FC in 2013 . After 15 first division games, in which he scored a personal goal in the 3-2 away win against Estudiantes de Mérida on September 25, 2013, he joined Danubio during the 2013/14 season in early January 2014 as part of another loan. He contributed to the championship win of the Montevideans with ten league appearances (no goal). For Apertura 2014 he moved to Centro Atlético Fénix . There he was used ten times (one goal) in the Primera División in the 2014/15 season. After the end of the loan business, he initially returned to River Plate Montevideo for the 2015 Clausura. After a few days he was awarded to the second division club Cerro Largo FC until the end of the season , for whom he played two second division games (no goal) in the 2015 Clausura. Finally, River Plate Montevideo passed it on to the second division side Boston River in late July 2015 . There he played seven league games in the 2015/16 season and scored one goal. In January 2016 he moved to CA San Martín de Tucumán in Argentina . In Torneo Argentino A , he completed seven league games there (no goal). In mid-August 2016, Concepción FC signed him , for whom he played eleven times (no goal) in Torneo Argentino A. At the beginning of February 2017 he returned to Uruguay and played for the second division club Atlético Rentistas . After six league appearances and one goal, he left the club in July 2017 and joined Altos Hornos Zapla .
