Sebastián Cristóforo , full name Sebastián Carlos Cristóforo Pepe , (born August 23, 1993 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.74 meter tall midfielder Cristóforo is the younger brother of the football goalkeeper Federico Cristóforo . He first played for Club Atlético Peñarol , whose youth team he was already a member. Since the 2011 Clausura , when coach Diego Aguirre replaced him in the league game against Central Español on May 29, 2011 for Nicolás Domingo , 45 appearances and one goal in the Primera División have been recorded for him. In the Copa Libertadores he ran 15 times (no goal). With the Aurinegros he was Uruguayan champion in the 2012/13 season . In August 2013 he moved to Sevilla FC . In Seville, according to the club, he signed a five-year contract that includes a release clause with a fixed transfer fee of 25 million euros. He made his debut with the Spaniards on September 14, 2013 in the Primera División encounter on the fourth matchday against FC Barcelona , when he was called into the starting line-up by coach Unai Emery and replaced by Marko Marin after 69 minutes . In the 2013/14 season he played twelve league games (no goal) until his last appearance on March 16, 2014, in which he tore the cruciate ligament of his left knee with an expected six-month injury break. He also came seven times in the Europa League , which his club won at the end of the season. In the 2014/15 season, which ended his club fifth in the table and at European level as the winner of the Europa League , he was not used in the league. During the 2015/16 season he played 21 first division games (no goal) and six games (no goal) in the Europa League. Again he won the Europa League with the team. At the end of August 2016, he moved to Italy on loan to Fiorentina . For the Italians he played six times (one goal) in the Europa League, twice (no goal) in the Coppa Italia and in 19 games (no goal) in Serie A by the end of the season.
National team
Cristóforo made his debut on April 25, 2012 under coach Óscar Tabárez in the 0-0 draw against Egypt in the Uruguayan Olympic team (U-23). This was his only game in this national team. In the U-20 national team, he was then used for the first time under coach Juan Verzeri on June 6, 2012 in the 4-2 win against the USA. Cristóforo was part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 team at the U-20 South American Football Championship in Argentina in 2013 and played eight games during the tournament. In July 2013, he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup in Turkey in 2013 . Cristóforo was used in all seven games of his team. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 28 international matches in this age group.
