Dávid Hancko (born December 13, 1997 in Prievidza ) is a Slovak football player who is under contract with the Italian first division club Fiorentina . The defender has been a Slovak national player since October 2018 .
Career

Dávid Hancko, born in Prievidza , played in the youth departments of TJ Tatran Kamenec and FC Baník Horná Nitra before moving to the MŠK Žilina youth academy in 2013 . On November 22, 2014, he made his debut in the 3-0 home win against AFC Nové Mesto nad Váhom in the B team, when he came on in the 80th minute for Peter Jasenovský . In the second highest Slovak division , he completed this one league game this 2014/15 season.
In the next 2015/16 season, the defender was already an undisputed regular in the reserve team. On September 5, 2015 (6th matchday) he scored his first league goal in a 1-1 draw against ŠKF Sereď . Two weeks later (9th matchday) he even scored twice in the 3-3 draw against SK Senec . Due to his excellent performance for the B team, he was promoted to the first team for the first time in February 2016. He made his debut in the top Slovak division on February 26, 2016 (20th match day) in the 0-1 away defeat against MFK Skalica , when he came on for Branislav Šušolík in the 75th minute of the game . In the first team he played five league games in this 2015/16 season and at the same time he played 29 games for the reserve, in which he scored five goals.
In the next 2016/17 season he shuttled between the first and second selection. In the first division he made only four competitive games and in the second division he played 13 games in which he scored six goals. On August 12, 2017 (4th match day) he scored his first goal in the Fortuna league in a 7-1 home win against FK Senica . In this 2017/18 season he also made his breakthrough in the first team of head coach Adrián Guľa and came to 27 league appearances in which he scored three goals.
On July 1, 2018, Dávid Hancko moved to the Italian first division club Fiorentina , where he signed a five-year contract. On September 22, 2018 (5th matchday) he made his debut in a 3-0 home win against SPAL Ferrara in the top Italian division when he came on for Cristiano Biraghi in the second half . In this 2018/19 season he was always listed in the viola matchday squad , but was only used sporadically in five league games.
For the next 2019/20 season, the talented defender moved to the Czech first division club Sparta Prague in a one-year loan deal . On August 8, 2019, he made his debut in a 2-2 draw against Trabzonspor in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League when he came on as a substitute for Srđan Plavšić in the closing stages . In his first league start three days later (5th matchday) in the 3: 4 away defeat against FK Mladá Boleslav , he met for the first time. Háncko started regularly in central defense at the beginning of the season , but was soon pushed onto the bench after a weak start. In the second half of the season, however, he established himself again as a regular under the new head coach Václav Kotal . He played a total of 19 league games in this 2019/20 season, in which he scored two goals.
National team
Between November 2015 and March 2016, Dávid Hancko played eight international matches for the Slovak U19 national team , in which he scored a goal. He then played nine times for the U21s from September 2017 to September 2018 .
At the beginning of October 2018, Hancko was nominated for the first time for the senior national team by head coach Ján Kozák senior . On October 13, 2018, he made his international debut in a 2-1 home defeat in the UEFA Nations League when he came on for Tomáš Hubočan in the 80th minute . He started regularly in the next few games and after Hubočan's resignation, his place in left full defense was further consolidated . On June 11, 2019, he scored his first goal in a 5-1 away win against Azerbaijan in qualifying for the 2021 European Championship .
