Riccardo Sottil (born June 3, 1999 in Bergamo ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with the first division club Fiorentina . The winger has been Italy's U21 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Sottil started playing football at CFC Genoa and joined the youth department of Fiorentina via FC Turin in 2016 . After showing good performances in the U19 team, he was included in the matchday squad in the first team for the first time at the end of the 2017/18 season , but was not used.
He made his Serie A debut on September 19, 2018 in a 1-1 draw against Sampdoria Genoa when he came on for Federico Chiesa in the closing stages . Until the end of January 2019, he was only used in one other game, but was on the bench in almost every game. On January 27, 2019, Sottil switched to the second division side Delfino Pescara 1936 on loan , where he should collect match practice. He played his first game on February 18 (24th matchday) in a 2-0 away win against FC Crotone . At the end of the 2018/19 season , he established himself in the starting lineup. On April 27 (35th matchday) he scored his first professional goal in a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona .
After returning to the Fiorentina, he established himself as a rotation player in the 2019/20 season .
National team
Sottil represented his home country in various junior selections, starting with the U18 .
Private
Sottil's father Andrea was also a professional soccer player. He played 14 years in the top Italian division, where he was among others for AC Florence, Atalanta Bergamo and Udinese Calcio in use.
