Cyril Théréau (born April 24, 1983 in Privas ) is a French football player .

Career

In Belgium & Romania

Before Théréau went to RSC Anderlecht , he played for US Orléans , SCO Angers in France, then for Charleroi SC in Belgium and then for Steaua Bucharest in Romania. Théréau made a big leap in his career, he played in the French third division in 2006 and in the same year he played with Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Champions League . Théréau was brought to Steaua Bucharest to replace the injured Victoraș Iacob , where he scored a hat trick against FC Național Bucharest on November 12, 2006 . Together with Valentin Badea , Théréau was named the best transfer of the 2006/07 season.

On June 26th, Théréau was signed by the Belgian record champions RSC Anderlecht for an amount of over three million euros, but flopped here and so he was sold to Charleroi a year later. Things went better for him at his old place of work, among other things, he scored a hat trick against Sporting Lokeren on March 10, 2010, Charleroi won the game 4-1.

In Italy

On August 24, 2010, the Italian first division team Chievo Verona announced the commitment of Théréau. In Chievo, he quickly became a regular player and secured his team with important goals to stay in the league.

On June 26, 2014 Udinese Calcio strengthened with Cyril Théréau. Udinese transferred around 2 million euros in transfer fees for the 31-year-old center forward. In Udinese, Théréau was a regular player straight away and played 36 of 38 possible games in the 2015/16 season , he also scored eleven goals. In 2017 he moved to Fiorentina .

Trivia

  • With every goal scored, Théréau forms his index and middle finger and his ring and little finger into a pair and spreads them apart in the middle.
