Ignacio Risso , full name Ignacio Risso Thomasset , (born October 8, 1977 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

The offensive player Risso, who is 1.87 meters or 1.88 meters tall, depending on the sources, was at the beginning of his career in 1998 in the ranks of the then second division Miramar Misiones . He then played from the Apertura 1999 to the Apertura 2002 for the first division club Danubio FC . He chose his next career station in Argentina at CA Lanús . There he completed a total of 29 games in the Primera División as part of a loan in the Apertura 2002 and Clausura 2003 , in which he scored six goals. In 2003 he also played 21 first division matches for the Ecuadorian club LDU Quito and scored three times in the opposing goal. In the Clausura 2004 he was again in 16 first division games (one goal) for Lanús on the field. Both in the Clausura 2004 and in the mid-season 2005 he was again a player of Danubio FC. In 2004 he was Uruguayan champion with the Montevideo club. Risso contributed to this with ten goals as the team's most successful goalscorer. From July 2005 he was on loan from the Argentine club Quilmes AC , where he spent the Apertura 2005 and the Clausura 2006. In 23 appearances, he scored four times for the Argentines. He then moved to Europe. There he was under contract with SD Ponferradina in Spain in the 2006/07 season . The record shows there 35 games and nine goals for him. In the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons he came in a total of 60 league games for the Cypriot club Apollon Limassol to train. The statistics at this station show him 20 goals. He has been under contract with Defensor Sporting since the 2009/10 season . By the end of the 2013/14 season, he ran in 137 Primera División games with the Montevideans and scored 45 goals. He also has five appearances (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana and ten (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores . In the 2014/15 season he was used 24 times (seven goals) in the top Uruguayan division. On June 19, 2015, he announced the end of his career.

National team

On January 22, 2000 he was substituted on by coach Víctor Púa as part of the South American "Torneo Preolímpico" of the U-23 selection in Uruguay's national team in the 2-1 victory over Bolivia in the 59th minute for José Franco . On January 29, 2000, he was then in the starting line-up in a 2-1 victory over Argentina's U-23s. Against Chile on February 2, 2000 (1: 4 defeat) he came again as a substitute and on February 4, 2000 against Argentina (0: 3 defeat) and on February 6, 2000 against Brazil (2: 2) in the starting line-up standing to the train. He scored his only goal in the game against the Brazilians.
