Juan Segura

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Juan Segura (* 1898 in Mexico City ; † 1989 there ) was a Mexican architect.

Life

Segura studied architecture at the Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City. On behalf of wealthy private clients, he designed a large number of buildings in the Mexico City area in the 1930s and 1940s.

Segura's best-known building is the Ermita building in the Tacubaya district that was built between 1929 and 1935 . Regardless of the differences between Ricardo Legorreta and Juan O'Gorman and Segura because of its more functional architecture, he was considered one of the great Mexican architects of his time and one of the pioneers of post-revolutionary Mexican architecture.
