The song is a four-part short chant characteristic of the Taizé community . The song is sung over and over again in a meditative manner. It can be supported by solo chants. There are also notations for keyboard , guitar , flute , clarinet , trumpet , trumpet- horn - trombone trio.
The song can only be sung in German. This is unusual with Taizé songs, as there are often many singable translations (see e.g. El Senyor ).
The text has a biblical origin and comes from Joel 2:21:23 EU :
“I will send the enemy from the north far away from you, I will drive him into a dry, deserted land, I will drive his vanguard to the eastern sea and his rearguard to the western sea. Then a stench rises, the smell of putrefaction rises from him because he was boasting. Do not be afraid, arable land! Rejoice and rejoice; for the Lord has done great things! Do not be afraid, you animals in the field! Because the grass in the steppe turns green again, the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and vine produce their yield. Rejoice, children of Zion, and be glad in the Lord your God. For he gives you nourishment as it is right. He sends you the rain, autumn rain and spring rain as in earlier times. "

The song was published in 2015. It is subject to the copyright of “Ateliers et Presses de Taizé”, so it cannot be assigned to any composer known by name. This is the case with many newer Taizé songs. It can be found in the current song booklet under number 107.
