The anniversary medal of the 2nd Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Crown Prince" is a Bavarian commemorative decoration that was donated and awarded in 1932 under the protectorate of the pretender to the throne, Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria .

Foundation, endowment

The commemorative medal was donated on June 29, 1932, under the protectorate of the last regiment holder, Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, and awarded by the association of former members of the 2nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Kronprinz" on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the renowned troop formation. All former members of the regiment who were in possession of civil rights were entitled to the award.

About 1000 medals were awarded.

Appearance

The round medal made of bronze shows the crowned regimental monogram ME (Max Emanuel) in the middle with the inscription MIT GOTT FVER KOENIG VND VATERLAND 1682 - 1932 . On the back there are two armed soldiers in World War I uniforms, one standing and one kneeling. Below is the monogram of the stamp cutter GH . The image is surrounded by the inscription KGL. BAYER. 2. INFANT. CROWN PRINCE REGIMENT .

The medal has a diameter of 37 mm and the edge is embossed with BAYER. HAUPTMÜNZAMT to read.

Carrying method

The award was worn on a black ribbon with yellow side stripes at a distance of 2 mm from the ribbon edges on the left side of the chest.
