The Jubilee Cross 1908 was donated on August 14, 1908 by Emperor Franz Joseph I on the occasion of his 60th anniversary in government on December 2, 1908. It was issued in three versions:

The shape of the medal and the dimensions of the ribbon were identical in all three variants, but the three versions were worn on different ribbons (see below), and each version had its own award criteria.

Appearance and wearing style

Medals

The decoration created by the chamber medalist Rudolf Marschall is a paw cross with a diameter of 37 mm, the cross arms of which are connected by a laurel wreath . The center of the cross is covered by a round medallion with a diameter of 20 mm, on which the portrait of the donor is shown, turned to the left . The regent wears the uniform of a field marshal and the Order of the Golden Fleece . The inscription FRANC IOS I can be seen on the left edge of the medallion . The back of the cross is smooth and bears the two-line years 1848 1908 on the round central shield .

Ribbon

The decoration was carried on a 40 mm wide triangular ribbon : the jubilee court cross on the ribbon of the Leopold Order , the military jubilee cross on a white ribbon with red stripes, the anniversary cross for civil servants on a ponceau red ribbon.

Carrying method

The decoration was to be worn on the left side of the chest.
