The Judas Rock (English meaning for traitor rock ) is a cliff rock washed over by the sea in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 8 km west of the southwest end of Trinity Island .
The rock was first recorded on an Argentine map from 1950. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 in an allegory to the fact that the rock marks the southern extension of an area of dangerous shallows that extends from this rock extends a length of 5 km.
