Judith Alpi

Judith Alpi Ghirardi (born March 3, 1893 in Santiago de Chile , † February 5, 1983 ibid) was a Chilean painter .

After training in music, Alpi took painting lessons from Nicanor González Méndez and studied at Escuela de Bellas Artes with Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor , Juan Francisco González and Alberto Valenzuela Llanos . She taught at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas des Liceo Nº1 de Niñas in Santiago, at the Instituto Pedagógico and the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas and was one of the founders of the Sociedad Nacional de Bellas Artes

As a painter she is assigned to the Generación del Trece around her teacher Sotomayor. She received several awards from the Salón Oficial and Salón Nacional and had several solo exhibitions in Santiago from the 1960s. The paintings Retrato de Laura Rodig , Kimono Blanco and María Madge Hanna Moya are owned by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes .
