Judith Augoustides (born April 10, 1975 in Friedrichroda as Judith Deister) is a former German-South African beach volleyball player .

Career

Judith Deister came to Cologne with her family before the fall of the Berlin Wall , where she studied sports science after graduating from high school. In 1994 she started playing beach volleyball in Germany, but also trained in South Africa from time to time. At the side of Helke Claasen she took part in the FIVB World Tour in 2002 and 2003 , finished ninth at the German championship in 2003 in Timmendorfer Strand and took the same place at the 2003 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro . Then Deister played in 2004 with Mireya Kaup and in 2005 with Claudia Lehmann . In 2005 she married the South African beach volleyball player Casey Augoustides , with whom she moved to his home country. As a result, Judith Augoustides started for South Africa, first with Leigh-Ann Naidoo and later with Vita Nel , with whom she took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and then ended her beach career. Their daughter Karla was born in 2009 and their son Pablo was born in 2012. Today Judith Augoustides runs a bakery in Cape Town. In 2013 she started again on the FIVB World Tour in Durban .
