Judith Viorst
Judith Viorst (born February 2, 1931 in Newark , New Jersey ) is an American author , newspaper journalist and psychoanalyst.
Life
Viorst graduated from Newark College of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University in Newark in 1952 . In 1968 she was one of the signatories of the Writers and Editors ar Tax Protest , who refused to pay taxes in protest against the Vietnam War . After years of successfully writing books for children, adolescents and adults, she began studying psychoanalysis at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute in the late 1970s , which she successfully completed in 1981.
Viorst is married to a politics writer. The couple live in Washington DC and have three grown sons.
