In the Schleswig-Holstein youth institution (JA), the youth penalty is carried out for the entire state of Schleswig-Holstein . The facility is located in a wooded area on the western edge of the city of Schleswig (Königswiller Weg 26). The new construction of the inner courtyard of the detention center has been carried out by the State of Schleswig-Holstein until mid-2019.
Responsibility and Organization
JA Schleswig is responsible for the enforcement of juvenile sentences from 14 to 24 years of age and pre-trial detention up to 21 years of age. Ten of the 112 places of detention belong to the open prison . The social therapy of JA has 30 treatment places. Accommodation takes place in the residential group in several detention houses, each of which houses 11 to 15 prisoners.
