The Jugendneuererpreis was awarded jointly by the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and the Free German Youth (FDJ) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) since March 1976. The award was given to young collectives and young people of the FDJ who had achieved outstanding achievements within the Mass of the Masters of Tomorrow (MMM) and the innovator movement.

Appearance

The basic shape of the pin for the new youth price is square and shows in its upper half the golden inscription on a blue background: youth new price as well as the FDJ symbol protruding over the edge of the pin to the left.
