Youth Symphony Orchestra Marzahn-Hellersdorf

The Marzahn-Hellersdorf Youth Symphony Orchestra , or JSO Marzahn-Hellersdorf for short , was founded in 2005. It is affiliated with the Hans-Werner-Henze Music School Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Its conductor is currently Jobst Liebrecht.

The orchestra performed in the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus, the Berlin Cathedral and the French Friedrichstadtkirche. In July 2012, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf Youth Symphony Orchestra went on a concert tour to Salzburg at the invitation of Salzburg Cathedral Music. In summer 2013 it played at the Schwerin Youth Symphony Orchestra Festival.

The youth symphony orchestra is particularly dedicated to new music . It played as commissioned works e.g. B. World premieres by Juliane Klein, Moritz Eggert, Detlev Glanert, Jan Müller-Wieland, Helmut Oehring, Alexander Strauch, Bernd Redmann and Benjamin Schweitzer.

prehistory

The JSO was founded in 2005 on their own initiative by students from the music school in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district of Berlin . The orchestra now includes z. B. also former music students and students. There has been a cooperation with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSB) since 2007 .
