Youth Sunday
The Youth Sunday is a Sunday on which several Christian youth organizations a special, youth-friendly design of the worship propagate and possibly exceeding this youth actions. It goes back to the tradition of the " confession Sunday " of Catholic youth.
prehistory
Since the 1920s, a Day of Confession of Catholic Youth has been celebrated on Trinity Sunday, the Sunday after Pentecost . When the National Socialists held the Reich Sports Festival this Sunday , the youth's commitment to loyalty was postponed to Christ the King Sunday , introduced by Pope Pius XI. in 1925, on the last Sunday in October. The Catholic youth wanted to set a counterpoint to the Führer cult by giving Christ the King Sunday a new meaning: the sole king of Christian youth is Christ.
Confession Sunday was celebrated with processions and torchlight procession .

On the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Diocese of Bamberg in 2007, the BDKJ Diocesan Association decided that Youth Sunday should be celebrated again annually. Since 2013 it has been held on the 17th Sunday of the year.
