Koppelsberg
Koppelsberg is a place in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park , the eastern part of which is a district of the city of Plön and the western part of which is a district of Dörnick .
geography
The Koppelsberg , on which the village is located, lies in the west of the city center of Plön in the direction of Ascheberg on a narrow strip of land bordered by the Großer Plöner See in the south and the Kleiner Plöner See in the north . Here the Schwentine connects the two Plön lakes via the Mühlensee. The Koppelsberg is accessed by the B 430 leading over the strip of land .
Facilities
There are several leisure and educational facilities on the Koppelsberg. In addition to numerous holiday homes, the city of Plön's youth hostel and a water sports center with a sailing club, harbor and shipyard as well as a canoe center with boat rental are located there.
Evangelical youth, leisure and educational center Koppelsberg
The largest facility is the Ev. Koppelsberg youth, leisure and educational center of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany , or Northern Church for short, which is housed in a former estate of the Hamburg merchant Wilhelm Moll. He bought the land in 1910 and built a summer residence in 1913. From 1938 the Moll family lived permanently in the manor house. In 1948 Emmy Luise Moll and the authorized representatives of her deceased husband Wilhelm Moll offered the then independent Evangelical Lutheran Church of Schleswig-Holstein the property Koppelsberg with all the buildings that were owned by Bishop Wilhelm Halfmann and the President of the Regional Church Office Herbert Bührke on 11. Acquired August 1948. It was agreed that the property should be preserved in its entirety and given the name Wilhelm Moll Foundation . On April 2nd, 1951 the Evangelical Youth Home Hinterste Wache was officially opened, on April 27th the State Youth Parish Office moved in. Several name changes followed.
Today the Ev. Youth, leisure and educational center Koppelsberg a total of seven guest houses, all of which are located directly on the Großer Plöner See and have 82 rooms and 256 beds. There is also a leisure area of over 20 hectares, on which there are numerous leisure facilities such as beach volleyball fields, street basketball fields, a football field, a goal wall, barbecue areas, campfire sites, a children's playground, a rainbow playground, a jetty and a private beach with a service building (toilets, changing rooms , Rescue facilities, telephone). The operation also includes a large kitchen with several dining rooms and a coffee garden as well as an event hall. The facility was the largest accommodation facility in the area of the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church, which existed until 2012, and is known far beyond the borders of the region. Above all, it offers accommodation, catering and leisure activities for children, young people and families such as kindergartens, day-care centers, school classes, parishes, youth associations, disabled facilities, social welfare organizations and many more.
On the weekend of June 14th and 15th, 2008 on the Koppelsberg in the Ev. Youth, leisure and education center for the first time a midsummer festival with a midsummer market and a midsummer night party place. More midsummer celebrations followed. The third, over Pentecost 2011, had more than 26,000 visitors.

On July 17, 1953, the Chapel Building Association was founded and a chapel was built next to the B430 federal road. This was inaugurated on October 23, 1955. Academy on the lake
