history
The Otelli Circus has existed in Otelfingen ( Canton of Zurich , Switzerland ) since 1986 and is directed by the founders Fritz Zollinger and Madeleine Häfele. «Otelli» is a fantasy name made up of: OTELfingen and the endings of (well-known) circuses such as ConeLLI , RoncaLLI , ZoLLI. All adults involved (especially all parents of the children) work on a voluntary basis. The artists are between six and sixteen years old and remain loyal to the circus for over ten years. In the first 32 years, 307 children from the village and the surrounding area as far as Zurich and the canton of Aargau took part.
Operation today

The seven annual performances - accompanied by a mini orchestra - take place in September in the smallest circus tent in Switzerland (for 120 people, diameter 10 m, height 4.5 m, ring with 4 m diameter).
