Jukka Tolonen
Jukka Tolonen (born April 16, 1952 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish jazz guitarist .
Tolonen became known as the guitarist of the jazz-influenced rock band Tasavallan Presidentti ("The President of the Republic"), which also featured Finnish jazz saxophonists Juhani Aaltonen and Pekka Pöyry, bassists Måns Groundstroem and Heikki "Häkä" Virtanen Singers Frank Robson and Eero Raittinen, and drummer Vesa Aaltonen played. Tasavallan Presidentti is probably one of the most famous Finnish progressive rock bands.
Life
Tolonen had his first appearances with Tasavallan Presidentti in 1969 at the age of 17 , but also recorded two albums with the band Wigwam . Through this work he became known as a virtuoso guitarist, especially in Scandinavia.
Over time he worked with several other fusion- oriented bands such as Guitarras Del Norte , Trio Tolonen and the Jukka Tolonen Band .
In 2006, Tolonen released Tasavallan Presidentti's last album, Six Complete , and a solo album of John Coltrane , Cool Train .
