Jukka Einar Virtanen (born July 15, 1959 in Turku ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player .

Career

Jukka Virtanen began his career as a hockey player with Ässät Pori , for whose professional team he was active from 1979 to 1983 in the SM-liiga , the highest Finnish league. The defender then moved to TPS Turku , with whom he was Finnish champion four times in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1993 . Following the 1992/93 season , he ended his career at the age of 34.

International

Virtanen took part in the World Championships in 1986 and 1987 for Finland . He was also part of his country's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , where he and his team won the silver medal.
