Jules de Clérambault

Jules de Clérambault (* 1660 ; † August 17, 1714 in Paris ) was a French Roman Catholic clergyman, commendatarian abbot and member of the Académie française .

life and work

Jules de Clérambault was the son of Marshal Philippe de Clérambault (1606-1665) and the nephew of the Bishop of Poitiers, Gilbert de Clérembault (1611-1680). He was ordained a priest and Commendatarabb of the Abbey of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe , from 1695 of the Abbey of Saint-Taurin in Évreux . Also in 1695 he was elected to the Académie française (seat no. 24). Only academy speeches are known from him. In Toussaint Rose's welcoming speech, no writings are mentioned, but above all the merit of belonging to a family valued by the king is underlined.
