St-Taurine (Evreux)
The Roman Catholic Church of St-Taurin in Évreux , a French town in the Eure department in the Normandy region , was built from the 11th century. The Romanesque church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1840 .

At the end of the 10th century, Duke Richard I had an abbey built on the site of today's church . The St. Former abbey church consecrated to Taurinus was built from the 11th century and changed over and over again in the course of the following centuries.

The oldest part of the church, from the end of the 11th century, is preserved in the north transept. The southern arm of the transept dates from the second quarter of the 12th century; a small apse is attached to it, which today serves as a sacristy . The crypt , which is located under part of the relay choir , has been almost completely renovated. The largest renovations took place in the 15th and 16th centuries, with the church being Gothicized .
The central nave , which previously consisted of seven bays , was shortened by two bays in 1715. The stepped arcades on the left rest on capitals that were renovated in the 19th century.
Leaded glass window
- The three stained glass windows in the choir date from the 15th century. They depict scenes from the life of St. Taurinus: the announcement of his birth, his baptism, his arrival in the city, etc. a.
- Two other large windows in the choir, also from the 15th century, have the death of Mary and her resurrection as motifs .
- Between the choir and the transept, windows from the 19th century can be seen, which the legend of St. Tell Leuffroy.

Reliquary of St. Taurinus
The precious reliquary of St. Taurinus was created in the 13th century for Gilbert de Saint-Martin. The wood and silver shrine is covered with a relief made of gold depicting various scenes from the life of St. Taurinus represents.

The organ was built in 1842 by the organ builder Louis Callinet, and restored and modified in 1974 by the organ builder Alfred Kern. The slider chests -instrument has registers on three manual works and pedal . The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
