July Issajewitsch Aichenwald
July Issajewitsch Aichenwald ( Russian Юлий Исаевич Айхенвальд ; born January 12, 1872 in Balta ; † December 17, 1928 in Berlin ) was a Russian literary critic . In 1922 he emigrated to the German Reich . Aichenwald was a professor of Russian literary history at the Russian Scientific Institute in Berlin and a member of the Berlin Association of Russian Writers and Journalists. He was best known as the author of literary portraits of Russian and Western European writers. Until his accidental death in 1928, he headed the literary criticism department of the newspaper "Rul".
