Julia AB Hegewald

Julia Anna Barbara Hegewald (* 1971 in Aachen ) is a German art historian .

Life

She obtained her BA in Art & Archeology and Nepali from SOAS University of London in 1994, an MA from Oxford University in 1998, PhD in History of Indian Architecture from SOAS University of London in 1998 and her habilitation from Aachen University in 2008 . Since 2010 she has been Professor of Oriental Art History in Bonn .

Her research interests are art and architecture in South Asia and the Himalayas, water architecture in South Asia, Jain art and temple architecture, Jain culture in Karnataka, theory of reuse and urban planning.
